In 1997, the people in charge of the Chieftain decided that a tradition that had spanned almost four decades was at their disposal to terminate. So without thought for what other people had worked so hard on for so many years, the Chieftain was dead.
But in an effort to keep some spark of tradition alive (and possibly start one of our own), The Royal Flush decided to make the Flushtain a permanent fixture in Chiefs. Filling the role of editor in the absence of Joey Bradley was a budding English major, Kris Barton (What else was I going to do with an English degree?).
